About Attleborough in Norfolk

Attleborough is a market town in the Breckland district of Norfolk. Attleborough is full of character with the 15th-century St. Mary's Church being a particular highlight. It is an area of great natural beauty, surrounded on all sides by open countryside.

I practice Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday mornings from my therapy room based in Kenninghall, which is 8 miles from the centre of Attleborough, 14 minutes by car. On Fridays I have a therapy room in Diss town centre.

What is massage therapy?

Massage therapy is a manual therapy technique that involves using hands-on pressure on the body's soft tissues. It aims to improve overall health and well-being by promoting healing and aiding in injury recovery. In addition, it can enhance flexibility and alleviate pain caused by muscle tightness. Massage therapy can help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and promote relaxation. If you're in the Attleborough area and looking to manage chronic pain or simply seeking to improve your physical and mental health, massage therapy may be an effective option.

Sports massage

Sports massage is the use of specific therapy techniques in an athletic context to improve recovery time, enhance performance and reduce the risk of injury. This is accomplished using techniques that stimulate the flow of blood and lymph to and from muscles. Sports massage is often delivered before or after physical activity depending on the subject's needs, preferences and goals.

Swedish massage

This is a gentle treatment, with relaxation as the goal. Taking 30 or 60 minutes, this massage should leave you relaxed and de-stressed.

Hot stone massage

This is a fantastically relaxing treatment, which uses hot and if desired cold stones to work into the muscles. It's a gentler treatment than a conventional sports massage, but is still great for dealing with aches, pains and tight spots.

Pregnancy massage

Pregnancy massage, delivered to an expectant mother, uses aids such as pillows and bolsters to ensure that the client can lie comfortably. The therapy techniques used allow for the many physical changes that a woman experiences during this time.

What to expect from massage therapy near Attleborough

To begin your appointment, we will have a conversation about your needs, medical history, and any concerns you may have. I may also conduct some brief observations of your posture, range of motion, and movement; you will then be asked to make yourself comfortable on the massage table, under a blanket. You may need to disrobe to your underwear, depending on what you are wearing, but never more than that. After the massage is complete, we will have another chat to discuss how you're feeling, and if necessary, I may recommend exercises and stretches to maintain the benefits of the massage and provide aftercare advice.

Then you're all done, and hopefully feeling relaxed and ready to face the world again!
