Copywriting

Why use a copywriter?

Really excellent copy can set your website apart from its competitors and really get your point across. But sometimes, finding the right words can be a challenge. And when you’re running a business, it’s easy for copywriting to get pushed to the bottom of your to-do list. But it shouldn’t be!

So how to make time for writing the best copy that you can? Well, if you’re struggling to do that, maybe you should consider speaking to a professional copywriter like me.

A copywriter:

  • will save you time, allowing your focus to stay on your business;
  • can also bring a new perspective to your site;
  • can help you to really home in on the most important points that you need to make, and;
  • once those points have been decided on, they can get them across to potential clients and customers quickly and clearly.

Sounds good? Well why not get in touch to see if I can help?

I’ve already got my copy, can you still help me?

Certainly! If your copy is already written, a proofreader and editor can add a final polish for a truly professional site. It’s all too easy to miss your own mistakes and typos, especially if you’ve written and rewritten your work a few times! Eliminating these errors will make your site look professional and trustworthy.

A 2013 survey of 1,000 UK adults carried out by Global Lingo found that 74% of respondents said that they noticed the quality of the spelling and grammar on the websites they used. And 59% would find poor spelling or grammatical errors a reason prevent them from buying, saying that they ‘wouldn’t trust’ the company to provide a good service, or that they’d be put off by a lack of care.

The effects of minor errors can be dramatic: one UK tights manufacturer claimed that fixing one, prominent spelling error (‘tihgts’ rather than ‘tights’) on their website increased conversions by 80%. Of course, not every typo will have such a dramatic effect – but this does demonstrate just how important accurate and correct copy can be.
